In this paper, the author characterizes the $\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$-distinguished cuspidal representation of $\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{F}_{q^2})$ in terms of special values of their twisted gamma factors. The concepts and results presented in the paper are rather technical but nice. Therefore, these are too detailed to be described here in a moderate review. Hopefully the list of keywords gives an overview, what the reader might expect. See also the list of references in this respect.
