The authors consider a Lie group \(G\), a closed subgroup \(H\) of \(G\) and study the question of the existence of a \(G\)-invariant measure on the homogeneous space \(G/H\). Using the structure theory, the authors obtain a necessary and sufficient condition that is different from the André Weil criterion for arbitrary locally compact groups.
