The authors obtain an approximation theorem of semigroups of Lipschitz operators which are closely related with the abstract Cauchy problem in a Banach space. The main result is an extension of an important theorem by Miyadera-Kobayashi. The authors apply their main result to the projection method for the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations.
