The authors prove common fixed point theorems for generalized weak contractions extending a result of \textit{Q. Zhang} and \textit{Y. Song} [Appl. Math. Lett. 22, No. 1, 75--78 (2009; Zbl 1163.47304)]. Applications to similar results under contractive conditions of integral type are also given.
