The asymptotic behavior of the solution of the Maxwell equations with a memory-type boundary condition are examined. A `Graffi' type free energy is considered, and it is shown that when the domain is strongly star shaped, the energy of the solution decays exponentially with time, subject to a certain condition being satisfied by the kernel involved in the boundary memory condition.
