Polynomial approximations with so-called Lidstone-polynomials are studied. Polynomial approximations over triangles and simplices are discussed and the interpolation conditions which can be satisfied by them are studied. Also, remainder formulae and polynomials exactness are provided. Finally, uniform convergence of such approximations is analysed and computational aspects, such as stability, are addressed.
