The author is applying the theory of condition developed by \textit{J. R. Rice} [SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 3, 287--310 (1966; Zbl 0143.37101)], to define absolute and relative condition numbers of the spectral projection and derives explicit expressions of the condition numbers. Some relations between the condition number of the spectral projection and the condition number of the associated invariant space are presented.
