This paper presents several kinds of mixed means for three or more positive definite matrices, which involve the geometric mean [cf. \textit{T. Ando, C.-K. Li} and \textit{R. Mathias}, Linear Algebra Appl. 385, 305--334 (2004; Zbl 1063.47013)] and one of the arithmetic and harmonic means. Further results deal with mixed mean inequalities, matrix version of a conjecture of \textit{F. Holland} [On a mixed arithmetic-mean, geometric-mean inequality, Math. Competitions 5, 60--64 (1992)], and convergence of mixed mean sequences.
