Generalized \(m\)-gons are interesting generalizations of projective planes [see \textit{H. Van Maldeghem}, Generalized polygons (1998; Zbl 0914.51005)]. In this paper, the authors characterize Desarguesian projective planes in the class of generalized \(m\)-gons using a certain condition on the collineation group of the \(m\)-gon.
