The main objective of this paper is to characterize integral operators with semi-separable kernel which have some type of symmetry in terms of their time-varying realizations. The following cases of integral operators are considered: self-adjoint operators, positive operators, \(J\)-unitary operators, positive real operators, dissipative operators, and contractive operators.
