The author considers the three-body problem for three equal masses with constant moment of inertia moving in a plane under their mutual gravitational attraction, and proves the validity of \textit{D. Saari} [in G. E. O. Giacaglia (ed.), Periodic orbits, stability and resonances. 76--81. D. Riedel, Dordrecht (1970)] conjectured that only relative equilibrium solutions are possible.
