The authors consider a model of a chemical kinetics system describing the dynamics of species concentrations taking part in consecutive-competitive reaction in a continuously stirred tank reactor. The corresponding dynamical system has a continuum of equilibria. The particular equilibrium to which the solution of the system tends depends on the initial conditions. The global behavior of the system is studied by means of an invariant manifold and the boundary function method.
