The authors first review the orthonormal wavelets (Daubechies' wavelets) and the computation of the scaling coefficients, the coefficients of the orthogonal low-pass filters. Then they discuss a new approach to compute such coefficients based on scaling moments. Finally, they calculate by their method all coefficients of the orthogonal low-pass filters with filter lengths up to 16.
