The authors study oscillatory properties of the second-order nonlinear differential equations \[ [r(t)\Phi(x(t))\varphi(x'(t))]'+c(t)\varphi(x(t))=0. \] Using Riccati technique and averaging technique, new oscillatory criteria are derived and explained on suitable examples.
