The paper presents the numerical study for a system of equations describing the propagation of nonlinear waves in a fused coupler. The initial profile of the pulse is assumed to be of Gaussian type. The governing system of equations is transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations for the parameters of the pulse. The latter system is then used to simulate two physical phenomena -- the coupling between the two modes of propagation on the two cores and the effect of interchannel Raman scattering (IRS) -- as well as their mutual influence. It is observed that the type of dispersion management as well as the IRS affect significantly the variation of the parameters.
