The problem \(J^+\to (J^+)^2\) is investigated, that is, if \(J\) is an ideal on some \([\lambda]^{<\omega}\) and it is true that if the set \(\{(a,b):a,b\in X, a\subset b\}\) is 2-colored for some \(X\in J^+\) then there is a mono-colored \(Y\in J^+\). Baumgartner gave some negative results which are recast in terms of distributivity and cardinal characteristics. Another variant of the relation is also considered.
