In this paper, interesting new fixed point theorems for contractive type maps on complete gauge spaces are proved. First, a local fixed point result for single-valued maps is given, and then this result is extended to multivalued closed maps. A homotopy type result for contractive type maps is also presented. The results of this paper extend several known results.
