The authors construct a mathematical model that permits to analyze scattering properties of rough particles whose surface is described by a random function with normal distribution. The model is based on integral representations of the scattered field via polarization currents, whose computation is performed by the method of discrete sources. This approach has proved efficient for various problems of scattering theory. The deviation of the particle shape from the ideal shape is taken into account with the use of perturbation theory provided that the main square roughness height is much less than the wave-length of the incident radiation. The authors compare the resulting scattering diagrams for the cases of rough, smooth and layered spheroids to estimate the influence of roughness on the scattered field intensity for various polarizations.
