The author considers the set of all germ mappings \(({\mathbb R}^n, 0) \longrightarrow ({\mathbb R}^p, 0)\) which are \(C^2\) in a punctured neighborhood of the origin. He obtains several criteria for the \(v\)-sufficiency in terms of the Newton polyhedron. As particular cases he recovers the criteria of \textit{T.-C. Kuo} [Topology 11, 115--131 (1972; Zbl 0234.58005)] and \textit{L. Paunescu} [J. Math. Soc. Japan 46, 345--354 (1994; Zbl 0809.32009)].
