The authors obtain new traveling wave solutions including solitary wave solution and periodic solutions for (2+1)-dimensional generalized shallow water wave equation, (1+1)-dimensional potential KdV equation and Burgers-KdV equation. These results are obtained with a method for solving nonlinear evolution equations having a polynomial type of nonlinearity based upon the symbolic computation system MAPLE.
