The paper is concerned with the Spectral Deferred Correction (SDC) method for solving first-order evolution problems. The authors propose the usage of SDC in parallel with a rough initial guess and a Picard integral equation high-precision solver. They analyse how these processes can be parallelized and how to improve the global efficiency. In this respect a parareal SDC method is proposed and analysed, and numerical experiments presented.
