The author considers 8-dimensional vector bundles over closed 8-dimensional manifolds and gives necessary and sufficient conditions for such a vector bundle to admit a complex structure. The conditions are given in terms of the characteristic classes of the vector bundle. The conditions are determined first for the stable version of the bundle and then compressed to the 8-dimensional case.
