The author considers the quotient manifold of nondegenerate affinor fields on a compact manifold modulo the action of the group of nowhere vanishing functions. Due to earlier work by the same author [ibid. 52, No. 7, 33--37 (2008; Zbl 1179.53015); translation from Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Mat. 2008, No. 7, 39--44 (2008)], this quotient manifold is an infinite-dimensional Lie group modelled on a Banach space. The author then studies the Cartan connection and its geodesics on this Lie group. This generalises the special cases considered in [ibid. 53, No. 5, 59--62 (2009; Zbl 1179.53016); translation from Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Mat. 2009, No. 5, 68--72 (2009)].
