A general projection algorithm is presented which can be used to implement a variety of known extrapolation methods (such as minimal polynomial, reduced rank, modified minimal polynomial extrapolation). This algorithm is then applied to the solution of linear equations and thereby some known projection methods (e.g., Orthodir, the orthogonal residual method, the generalized conjugate residual method) are obtained.
