Codimension one and two immersions of Grassmann manifolds in Euclidean spaces (Q1801748)

The author gives a complete list of those real Grassmann manifolds which can be immersed in a Euclidean space with codimension 1 or 2. The main idea is to reduce the problem to known results on real projective spaces. By results of \textit{V. Oproiu} [Proc. Edinburgh Math. Soc., II. Ser. 20(1976-77), 177-185 (1977; Zbl 0359.57008)] it remains only to prove that \(G_{2,6}\) does not immerse in \(\mathbb{R}^{14}\). This is done by using \(K\)-theory.
