This paper is related to the author's earlier work together with \textit{R. Richardson} and \textit{R. Steinberg} [Invent. Math. 110, 649-671 (1992; Zbl 0786.20029)]. It gives a precise description of the orbits of a Levi subgroup on the lower central series of the unipotent radical of a parabolic group with Levi complement \(L\).
