The paper is an extension of the paper by \textit{A. A. Denisov} and the second and third author [ibid. 29, No. 3, 371-381 (1989; Zbl 0668.65065)]. Under weaker assumptions the same convergence results for difference schemes of the support operator method for the Poisson equation in bounded two-dimensional domains with a solution belonging to the Sobolev space \(H^ 2\) are obtained.
