On impulsive isoenergetic control (Q1803051)

The authors consider possible trajectories on a manifold in the abstract coordinate space associated with a conservative mechanical system. They point out that if the total energy associated with a trajectory is less than the maximum possible potential energy, certain portions of the trajectory cannot be traversed, and consequently it may not always be possible to move directly from one point on the trajectory to another on it.
