The author reports on a special method to order the unknowns in a system of linear algebraic equations. The method modifies previously published results concerning Cholesky type decomposition methods with particular applications to \(2-D\) elasticity. The corresponding algorithm is stable for the discrete analogues of elliptic boundary value problems.
