The author considers the diffraction problem of electromagnetic waves on a locally inhomogeneous body. The problem may be reduced to solve a singular integral equation. Under some assumption, he proves that the equation has a unique classical solution. Then he describes a numerical method to find the solution of the singular integral equation.
