The author suggests a method for smooth interpolation of surfaces by spline functions of second degree of a nonregular grid. He studies in more details the Hermite interpolation of surfaces by parametric polynomials of degree two and applies the results to the spline interpolation. The construction of visually smooth parametric splines is discussed and a numerical example illustrates the algorithm.
