The author defines derivatives abstractly using its algebraic properties. By Romanovski's lemma, he can prove the uniqueness of an abstract integral. The usual properties of the integral follow. A typical example is the \(AD\) integral as defined by the author [Proc. Japan Acad. 40, 713- 717 (1964; Zbl 0141.246)].
