From the ``Preliminaries'' of the paper: Investigations of invariant subspaces and spectral properties of plus-operators and applications of iterative methods use the properties of powers of plus-operators. In this connection it is important to know wheter a power of a nonstrict plus- operator may be strict. Our paper is devoted to the solving of this question and to the study of the plus-index of a plus-operator. These problems appear to be closely connected.
