The authors simulate propagation of spherical dilatation waves in an elastic continuum. Using the finite element method, the boundary conditions corresponding to a finite domain cut out from an infinite one are derived. These results are compared with results obtained by other procedures. Numerical results are plotted into diagrams. Some possibilities of generalization are emphasized.
