Transient piezothermoelasticity of a hexagonal plate of class 6 mm (Q1804491)

Introducing potential functions, through which the thermal stresses, the elastic displacements, the electric field intensity and the electric displacement are expressed, the authors investigate the quasi-static behaviour of an elastic plate belonging to the 6 mm class of symmetry. The attention is focused on the piezo-effect; the motion is produced by a sudden thermal load on the top surface of the plate. Numerical results are given for the cadmium selenide plate, and the resulting curves are analyzed.
