Modal treatment of linear periodic time-invariant equations of motion (Q1804526)

The system of differential equations \(M(t) \ddot u(t) + D(t) \dot u(t) + S(t)u(t) = p(t)\) is considered, where \(M(t)\), \(D(t)\), \(S(t)\) are periodic matrices, i.e. \(M(t) = M(t + T)\), \(D(t) = D(t + T)\), \(S(t) = S(t + T)\) for some \(T > 0\). It is shown how a numer of applied problems can be investigated with the help of this matrix equation.
