On various classes of harmonic maps (Q1805522)

We prove that the scaled energy of a harmonic map with an isolated interior singularity satisfies a monotonicity inequality globally on the map's domain. Combined with a uniqueness criterion for a class of stationary harmonic maps, this allows us to show that there are harmonic maps whose scaled energies satisfy a certain monotonicity formula, but which are not stationary.
