The paper presents a topological approach to the study of molecular graphs and knots. Most examples presented arise from molecular structures in chemistry. The paper focuses on the question of whether such a graph or knot is achiral, that is, whether it can be deformed into its mirror image. The paper is a survey of work done in this area during the last 15 years and no detailed proofs are given. This is an excellent starting point for anyone interested in this area.
