The authors study the influence of noise on the correlation dimension, the largest Lyapunov exponent and the geometric structure of chaotic attractors arising in dynamical systems, in particular the authors illustrate their ideas for the Hénon and Lorenz attractors. The authors' concept is based on the choice of a model providing informations on a time series with a finite correlation dimension.
