The solvability of the periodic Dirichlet problem for a quasilinear parabolic equation with standard structural conditions is studied. The main assumption is the following: The considered problem has an upper solution \(\overline u\) and a lower solution \(\underline u\) such that \(\underline u\leqslant\overline u\). The existence of the greatest solution \(u^\ast\) and the least solution \(u_\ast\) satisfying the inequalities \(\underline u\leqslant u_\ast\leqslant u^\ast\leqslant\overline u\) is proved.
