The design of robust control of single-input single-output (SISO) is of constant interest. Its characterization is performed in terms of dominant poles of the open loop and of the sensitivity of transfer function template. For a standard polynomial controller (denoted as R-S controller), the sensitivity shaping is realized by a procedure, the so-called \(Q\)-parametrization which requires an elaborated software. Here, the authors give an elementary solution to the problem of sensitivity shaping by introducing adequate notch (band-pass) filters. The proposed method is clearly explained and a numerical example is given which shows that the present approach provides comparable performances with more elaborated methods.
