Based upon some explanations of the notions of communicative rationality in the sense of Habermas, and of communicative logic in the sense of the late C. S. Peirce, the author argues that the final meaning of mathematics is to be an aid for the rational communication of man. This point of view is illustrated with an example from the author's concept lattices.
