This is the third in a series of five papers (by the authors and the reviewer) in which all maximal cliques in the quadratic forms graphs are determined. (The first two parts have already appeared [\textit{J. Hemmeter}, same journal 9, No. 4, 395-410 (1988; Zbl 0672.05044); the authors, ibid. 11, No. 2, 119-126 (1990; Zbl 0717.05040)], but the final two have not.) The last parenthetical remark in the paper is incorrect.
