A new method of solving \textit{H. S. Shapiro}'s problem [Am. Math. Mon. 61, 571 (1954)] of the minimum of \(S_ n(a)=\sum_{i=1}^ n{a_ i \over a_{i+1}+a_{i+2}}\) is given for \(n<7\).
