The following Hamiltonian system with \(N\) degrees of freedom is studied (1) \(dx/dt=Hx\), \(H\in\hbox{sp}(N,R)\), \(x\in R^{2N}\). Under additional assumptions a first integral of (1) is given and a theorem on elliptic orbits is formulated and proved.
