Discrete groups with large exponents in cohomology (Q1814007)

The results of an earlier article of the first author [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 21, No. 6, 585-590 (1989; Zbl 0648.55017)] are extended by producing a family of examples illustrating the fact that the least common multiple of the orders of the finite subgroups of a discrete group of finite virtual cohomological dimension may not annihilate the Farrell cohomology.
