The system of integro-differential equations governing the dynamic theory of viscoelasticity for some materials having a relatively fast variation of their characteristics is considered. The asymptotic procedure for obtaining the approximative solution of this system is set forth. This procedure is intended to describe the evolution of oscillation and undulating processes in viscoelastic materials presenting fast variations of their characteristics.
