It is proved that if \(a_1<a_2<\cdots<a_n\) are arbitrary real numbers, then there exists a real polynomials \(P\) of degree \((n+1)\) such that \(P(a_1),P(a_3),\dots\) are its maxima and \(P(a_2),P(a_4),\dots\) are its minima.
