This paper deals with a bivariate \(C^2\) quintic spline space over a domain obtained by a refinement of a triangulation of a polygonal domain. The author gives, among other things, a formula for the dimension of this spline space and demonstrates how to construct a locally supported basis. It is shown that the spline space in question has the full approximation order.
