The author obtains a mixed formulation of the Stokes problem for viscous incompressible fluid in a bounded convex polygonal domain, in terms of velocity, pressure and vorticity. This formulation takes into account the usual compatibility conditions between pressure and velocity, but it does not require any artificial boundary condition for the vorticity in order to obtain a well-posed problem.
